Werkflow - Blamm / Selection

Werkflow - Blamm / Selection

Release Date: 07/01/2019

Label: Inner City Dance

Catalog: ICD035

Inner City Dance steps into 2019 with the inaugural release from Werkflow, a new alias moniker from exciting young Toronto producer Imran Grafitti. Created to separate his previous output at different tempos from this 170 rooted project, Werkflow aims a life time of listening to Jungle music into a focused and deliberate dance floor attack.

“Blamm” goes straight for the jugular with chunky Apache chops, out front bleeps, b boy vocals and a rugged 808 sub before giving way to a vicious, snarling valve lead that cuts through any system. Referencing the heritage of Renegade Hardware and Metalheadz with a unique wide view approach, Werkflow balances tension, aggression and melancholy with chest out, ignorant funk.

“Selection” displays Werkflow’s penchant for unique drum programming with jittery beats and an elastic, vibrating bass line. His trademark bespoke vocal chops slide in and out before giving way to a 90's Jungle rare groove breakdown. Familiar adlibs and dub effects create a potent blend that channels the smokey roll of early Full Cycle with the frenetic propulsion of Chicago Footwork.

Inner City Dance looks forward to working more closely with this immensely talented producer as he continues his journey.
