After the huge success of VovKings mesmerisingly drippy, “Tears” VovKing is back on the mighty Mainframe Recordings with ‘Carburetor’. If you’re familiar with VovKINGS work you’ll already know you’re about to be taken on a wild ride. And Boy! Carburettor doesn’t disappoint.
From the first second of the slow-building intro, the track oozes power. VovKING begins the tack by playing with pitches in both the instrumentation and the vocals with bursts of crackles adding to the atmosphere.
The drop reveals and almighty stepper, which continually flips and switches the time signatures. In amongst the barrage of pounding drums a modulated strings you can hear snips of organically recorded and heavily effected sound effects, creaking doors, power tools, hissing pipes, deep draws of human breath? We may never find out the source of these weird and wonderful sounds, but we promise you’ll be glad VovKING found them.
