Lockdown Recordings is proud announce the release of the 'Slow Burn EP', a dynamic collaboration project from two of the labels long standing artists, Kontrast and Zerosum.
Kontrast is a master of the deep liquid D&B sound and this new collection of tracks comes off the back of the back a sick EP earlier this year with American label, Soul Deep. Birmingham based Zerosum has been busy focusing on his other collaboration project, 'Red Sky' over the last few years, which is well known for its darker, breakbeat driven sound and has made regular appearances on a host of labels incuding Make Or Break, Metius Music and Lockdown.
The opening track 'Slow Burn' is a deep and deadly dancefloor roller. Atmoshepric pads, technical drum edits build up the intro before a big drop into a morphing, twisting bass sounds and ethereal vocal samples. Next up, 'Bison Charge' is a more stripped back dubby jungle roller with an eery intro, that rolls out with pounding sub bass, techy bass stabs and tribal percussion.
To round off the EP Zerosum has dropped his own VIP take on Kontrast’s summer anthem 'Letting Go', which was also remixed by Bristol badboys, Ill Truth back in 2021. Zerosum has taken the track in different direction and this has been a favourite on dub for a while, with a big switch on the drop that works really well in the set.
