Cat No INV017
After an extended hiatus from releasing music via their own channel, The Invaderz are back with a refreshed and revamped label. Their imprint Invaderz Transmissions is continuing under the new guise of INV. New logo, new platform and new tracks !! With a stockpile of new dubs to release the label relaunch kicks off with these 2 rollers.
Since 2000 this label has released mostly music of their own production but it has also released music from Total Science, Klute, Break, Spirit, Juju, and Jubei to name a few. Over the last few years, they have been more focused on produFownction and have seen the release of their first long play album on Commercial Suicide. They also saw releases on Liquid V, Technique, Soul:r, Spearhead, Chronic, Metalheadz and Innerground amongst other high profile labels.
Now that we are heading into the Autumn of 2017, and the air gets a bit more crisp and the sun goes down a bit earlier, we decided it is time to bring back the Invaderz Transmissions imprint, and to do it with two songs dripping in the labels trademark sound.
‘Inside of Me’ starts it all off with an airy yet tension filled pad and an echo heavy filtered woman’s voice repeating a single word, “inside”. This builds up to the dubbed out bass line drop that is full of movement and funk. You can hear the rich and complex inspirations behind that classic rolling bass line as it moves in and out of the song making it impossible to sit still to when you hear it. The drums are signature Invaderz drums with their crisp and tight breaks that get your pulse to rise from the start. The beauty of the track is its timeless feeling with just the right amount of change ups and percussion edits to keep the dance floor moving and the heads nodding.
‘F/BAG’ is another one that will be in heavy rotation without question. Its almost haunting keys in the intro sets the pace from the start as the drums kick in and you can tell early on this one is going to unapologetically roll out. The filtered and slightly wobbling bass line makes its way in and the track just continues to build from there. Reverbed and reversed synth stabs and cymbals play off each other between breaks and percussion shifts, creating a sci-fi landscape and creates the overwhelming momentum of movement from all directions. This one is for those of you who like your drum and bass futuristic but with some added flavors of funk to keep it balanced.
