Encode & Receptor Ft. Julia Marks - Suka EP
Release Date: 22/11/2019
Label: Ignescent
Catalog: IGNI003
Ignescent Recordings holds a unique amalgam of sounds which all have a connection to drum and bass. Their successful rebrand for 2019 has upheld their reputation, something which is continually being held to high regard. This has been done primarily through their local industrious Russian roster. The ‘Suka EP’ sees promising upcomer Encode returning to the label with a charismatic set of tracks, showing you exactly why Ignescent have kept him on their radar. Since his last visit to Ignescent Recordings, Encode has been refining his sounds while having a stream of releases on imprints such as Bad Taste Recordings, Citrus Recordings and Free BPM Organisation. With each package he dives deeper into the drum and bass realm, defining his level of production further, explaining why he’s such an auspicious producer of D&B.
With his ‘Suka EP’ on Ignescent, Encode highlights both his collaborative talent and his individual skill set through three compelling tracks, each ready to add the stride in your step on club floors. Title-track ‘Suka’ is the first collaborative record on the track list with Encode joined by heavyweight-producer Receptor and soul-grabbing vocalist Julia Marks. Luring the listener in with such an upbeat introduction, you’re quickly battered by the punchy vocals from Julia Marks while riding across the bouncy bassline of the tune.
Being the only solo-standing track of this EP ‘Karma’ is next to lay it’s foundation, showing the standalone talent Encode truly holds. And that he does - with a charged bassline and electrifying sounds locked to send ripples through the club speakers. ‘Alco’ presents a startling finale with Encode meeting Receptor and once again demonstrating their dynamic array of sounds accented by an underground bass vibe.
These three tracks exemplify the sounds of Ignescent Recordings alongside the signatures of each artist. A forthcoming release which is also destined to boost the reputation of Ignescent Recordings further, it signifies why the label is becoming such a ‘buy on sight’ platform.
