Conrad Subs - Fury, Run It Pon Dem EP
Release Date: 15/01/2021
Label: Influence Records
This is Influence’s first release of 2021 and after the hype of The Fire EP, expectations of our next release are high, but we’re pleased to tell you, you won’t be disappointed!
Conrad Subs needs absolutely no introduction having dominated the charts last year with his hard yet versatile sound. Having sent Aaron a number of demo’s, Fury destroyed the speakers and was quickly signed to the label. The flip side ‘Run it Pon Dem’ nicely contrasts the high energy of Fury with a half-step nod to dub step, making creative use of the bass mixed with Conrad’s use of delayed dubby vocals. This rleasee has been supported by Fabio, Grooverider, Doc Scott, Marky, London Elektricity, Addiction, Random Movement, Flaco and many more.
We start the year as we left 2020, bringing you the best in fresh, forward thinking, deep DnB. We have so much more to come this year including the much anticipated single and return of Lynx, a new DAT:MUSIC inspired EP from Bungle, a deep EP from Wagz, an exciting single from Hobzee & Zyon Base aka Silent Dust, plus a left of centre EP from Conrad Subs. We can’t wait to share with you more fire music.
Aaron Jay and the team at Influence.
Stillness lulls you into a false sense of security as phased pads and a rising air string pull you in and then the female vocal echo’s in as the funk begins to take hold. Filtered jungle breaks steadily breathe into the track instantly gathering momentum and changing the energy. Make way for carnage as devastating breaks, bass and dub vocals ignite the dance floor. This is Mr Subs at his best, having fun and causing damage.
Run it Pon Dem:
Minimalist beats and old school metallic FX create a rich atmosphere – enter the breakdown and drop. This is heads music and for those that know - steppa beats with swing and hats that move you. Old school break edits bring interest and nostalgia while the high-end bass twists and turns as the sub hypnotises and drives the track. This is a clever tune that demonstrates Conrad Subs ability to take simple elements and turn them in to a piece of vibe music. Another deep cut from the new wave master.
