JDNB talks with NewBass, a fresh Drum & Bass experience coming to Newbury!
First of all, thanks for taking the time out to chat with us, tell us about how you came up with the idea and where it all started for you?
So in terms of the idea and where it started, we were looking to branch out of our hometown in Swindon and start doing events out of town in a new environment, and a new opportunity in Newbury was offered to us, so we just had to take it.
How would you describe your vision for the brand?
Our vision is to bring a brand new drum and bass experience to Newbury! Showcasing some of the biggest names in the scene along with giving the up and coming DJs/MCs a chance to play alongside them and showcase their talents.
We hear you’re running a DJ / MC competition! How can new talent get involved?
So other than the DJ/MC competitions that we'll be running for each event, we are constantly looking for talent. If you are looking to get involved in our events simply send over a recent mix or set that you’ve hosted via our socials and we will definitely look in to giving you an opportunity to play!
What do you look for when picking new artists to represent for you?
We look for artists that can control a crowd wether that’s a DJ or an MC we feel crowd control is important as well as mixing ability, tune selection and bars. We also look for artists who are humble and respect other up and coming artists and get involved with promoting the event they’re playing on.
Who would your dream headline act or combination be?
Wow there’s a few to pick from but we would have to go with either Hedex, Kings of the rollers or a full born on road takeover.
We hear that you’ve recently secured a residency at Power Nightclub in Newbury?
So we had a sit down with the guys at Power in Newbury, and we can confirm that we do have a residency! We will be running a monthly event on each first Friday starting in May!
The first NewBass event is on Friday the 3rd of March featuring heavy hitters such as T>I, Limited and Carasel! Alongside a diverse support line up!

What do you envision for the future of the brand?
Our vision for the future of NewBass is to continue bringing the best names in drum and bass to Newbury, as well as giving up and coming talent a platform to showcase what they’re all about! We are also looking to collab with other brands and come up with even bigger ideas and events for everyone to enjoy!
What do you enjoy most about putting on events?
We love seeing everyone enjoying themselves! Having a skank to the music, wether that’s the ravers or the artists, the fact everyone is having a good time on a night that is what makes it all worth while.
What would you say you like most about the www.jungledrumandbass.co.uk website?
We love the way JDNB gives artists a platform to showcase what they’re all about and the way you guys help push events and new releases.

We want to give a massive shout out everyone that has supported us with the event already. Whether you’ve bought a ticket, Shared one of our posts or commented it doesn’t go unnoticed! Shout out to all the artists that have approached us wanting to get Involved and a massive thank you to Power for giving us the chance to bring D&B to Newbury in their brand new venue!
