If there’s one thing Addictive never shy away from it’s nurturing breakthrough talent. This 23rd release introduces an explosive new artist to the label. Sao Paulo based producer Black Opps fires out his debut EP on AB with a 4 track solo effort displaying sensational skills from the badman Brazilian musician. Check out the diverse, powerful and meticulous production of Black Opps - ‘MicroKosm EP’.

Opening with an ominous cinematic intro Black Opps unveils his first masterpiece. Characterized by a distinctive vocal of a crazy wild eyed scientist, as the pressure builds to a monstrous drop. Shelling down amens and basslines like a D&B thunderstorm this one is relentless, and re-energizes a flavour of Addictive we haven't seen in a while. Heavy hard-hitting grittiness that will make you wanna throw your arms in the air and go ape shit.

Desires is an entirely different affair, easing in slow with a trickle of percussive hits and mesmerizing stretched synth layers, Black Opps showcases his contrasting techier side with a subtle yet moody roller. With an air of melancholy vibes this one thumps along with bass fueled kick drums and a carefully crafted snare. A real head-nodder.

The title track MicroKosm takes us in even deeper as the promising producer displays yet another string to his bow, this time flexing his minimal touch. Dripping in with an eerie atmospheric intro and breaking out into warm bass stabs and intricately placed shuffles and clicks. A fine display of minimalistic D&B craft at work.

Concluding the EP, Cosmonaughts picks up the pace with a unique drum roller bursting with personality. The subtle pulsating sub bass rumbles along with a raw kick-snare beat and pad melody which defines the track. Keeping the pace rolling with switch ups and shakers in every bar this one has to be heard til the end.

With growing support from the likes of Noisia, Joe Ford, Randall and now Addictive, Black Opps is bursting into the D&B scene with extreme force. Fresh, varied and loaded with impressive production capability, he's definitely one to watch.
